You can try a dry powder lube like powdered graphite.
Its available at most hardware stores and is great for sliding objects. Also, it doesn’t leave a mess.

The best thing to use is a silicone based lubricant. They sell it at home depot or any hardware store. Just be sure NOT to use WD40, it will destroy your cube.
For best results, pry off one of you edge pieces and lubricate near the center, and work it around by solving a few times. It may be a bit greasy for a while, so don’t over-do it!
